2021 Knoxville Ultimate Code of Conduct

The integrity of ultimate depends on each player's responsibility to uphold the Spirit of the Game, and this responsibility should remain paramount.

Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unsportsmanlike conduct from the ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other 'win-at-all-costs' behavior are contrary to the Spirit of the Game and must be avoided by all players.

I agree to abide and uphold Spirit of the Game and refrain from abusive behavior, dangerous play, or intentional rule infractions under USAU 11th edition. Violation of this agreement follows a three strike rule as voted by the captains of teams involved and Knoxville Ultimate (KU) board: (1) ejection from game, (2) ejection from league, (3) one calendar year suspension from all KU activity beginning on the date in which third infraction occurs. Appeals can be made in writing to knoxleague@gmail.com. The KU board will vote on appeals. Basically, be nice out there y'all.

COVID-19 Addendum

CDC guidelines recommend the use of masks by vaccinated and unvaccinated people when in large crowds. This extends to outdoor activities as well. I agree to wear a double-layer mask over my nose and mouth anytime I enter the field of play and whenever I am within 6 feet of other players on the sidelines. I agree to follow social distancing guidelines and only remove my mask when I am more than 6 feet from people who are not a member of my household.

The Knoxville Ultimate Board and Summer League Committee have agreed to limit player numbers to prevent the spread of COVID-19. I understand that only players are allowed on the sidelines of the field and guests may watch from one of the "viewing galleries" present at the fields.

By playing each week, YOU (the player) are guaranteeing that you answer NO to each of the following questions:

  1. Have you experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours:
    1. Fever/Chills, Cough, Difficulty breathing, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of tast/smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea/vomiting, and/or diarrhea
  2. Within the past 14 days, have you been in close contact ( <6 feet for more than 15 minutes) with:
    1. Someone who has a lab-test confirmed case of COVID-19 or
    2. Someone who has symptoms consistent with COVID-19?
  3. Have you or anyone in your household tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days?

If you answer YES to any of these questions, you may choose to either a.) present a negative result from a test taken after exposure or b.) wait 14 days from the point of exposure.

One final word of wisdom: Exercise extreme caution. Everyone will agree that a game of frisbee is not worth anyone’s health or life.
